It would take some time to switch over to electric vehicles completely and unfortunately most people wouldn't be able to afford them.I'm not sure that WILL happen though. I think in the short-medium term we're looking at $8 a gallon gas and oil changes that cost $150-200 unless you bring your own motor oil with you to the mechanic.

@Terry @greenshoots You under estimate the nature of the average consumer, The prices of oil will go to however much people are willing to pay for it. How much would gas/oil have to be for you to not consider not going to work. Thats the price at which the system collapses.
