       yooooooo signal finally isn't doing the thing where they generate one brand new backup file for every day you run a backup, so unless you have some sort of a "clear old signal backups" script you'll fill up your storage space with old backups 🤩they now seem to generate a bunch of small files and presumably they'll just add to those files as time goes on..?

       @demize I was just gonna post, it's not even done yet, I'm down from 100% battery to 37% alreadybut the thing to note is that signal itself has been done for a long time. I think the majority of the battery drain is coming to on the fact that I backup onto the nextcloud app, which writes to a virtual filesystem that's backed by my NAS over the network, where the network is "tailscale over 5G", so I'm suffering the overhead of encryption (signal), filesystem access, encryption (wireguard), and network access over 5G all at the same time continuouslydown to 35% writing this post
