       DeSantis can't un-do the damage of supporting israhell's war - even going on Levin in recent days, to spite the lying-poison Levin spews every night.  I say this as someone who strongly supported him over Trump in 2024.  But, at that time, the goal was someone who would keep Trump's broken promises on immigration (bust the employers, etc), and repeat what he did in FL regarding homos and DEI, nationwide (using Dept of Education accreditation).  The Iran war has changed the calculus.  For an R to win the general-election in 2028, they will need to unabashedly oppose "Israel First" - and DeSantis isn't that guy.

       Making this about DeSantis vs Trump is a poor idea. Neither are your guy. He can say the things he can because he is in a safe position. He wouldn't be able to say, much less do things like that if he were president.As an example - think of the antisemitism laws in Florida.What appears to be the best approach right now is to be simply "America First" and say "doing X thing isn't in our interest" additionally, I really do think we have 150 million illegals here and fixing that is extremely high priority as it's literally barbarians inside the gate.

       DeSantis has been the consistent voice on this for years - is why it was such a sick joke that Trump could win the 2024 R-nomination, after betraying us completely on immigration, while DeSantis kept his promises on it as gov.But, in terms of political calculus, he's going even further now, in criticizing the Immigration Act, because he can't/won't do/say the right thing about the Iraq war.

       the key here is to understand that neither of these guys are "your guy" and that means you cannot just expect them to do what you want without your applying pressure.Just understand because Boomers didn't do their job, everyone else has to do like triple duty.

       Possible, but it's also possible that he's just reacting to actual political reality.He is saying stuff that is useful, so we can work on that question when he stops being useful.
