       @eoaiuastwg@borg.social The error code is in a global variable, overwritten by something unrelated in another thread and translated by strerror() to a random message like "operation succeeded."

       @niconiconi@mk.absturztau.be Those are annoying, too. Though I mostly meant to refer to cases where software very intentionally provides a misleading error code because they don't want to give any information about how their auth/security/DRM/whatever critical subsystem works.
