       People will complain that "modern games" run "poorly" and can't even do "good lighting". When explained that today far more is real-time, they'll claim it always was then point at something like Donkey Kong 64, not understanding why you're laughing.

       @shivoa@mastodon.gamedev.place while I'll agree that modern games "do more stuff", I don't think that a lot of it is meaningfully improving the experience for the players, and that's the thing that they point out more.
