       I hadn’t really given it much thought before, but do people nowadays actually prefer the serial format over huge novel-length releases?

       I notice girls who never read books anymore can still get massively invested in some enormous works (like Sisters of Dorley is over one million words, that’s twice as long as Lord of the Rings!) if they’re progressively released in small pieces over a period of yearsand I got a lot more response from Ætherglow season 1 than White Smoke and Black Death when they’re probably of comparable length to each other, but one was released as a massive tome and one as a serial in 400 some tiny piecescould it be that this is just where the future of literature lies?

       @winter its not entirely uncommon, many classic scifi stories were released chapter by chapter, week by week like this, so were several of dickens' classic works
