       The politicians are practicising even more malicious laziness. They can't implement ID verification and age verification in a way that actually works and at scale, so they throw their hands with "I trust my AI! Have the AI do everything!" for which they already do not care about the concept of truth or truthful results

       The behaviour of politicians reflects the people who support them. There is a large portion of the populace who supports these kinds of lazy and unhealthy tech solutions.They care only about some vague outcome and accept anything suggested by someone trusted, i.e. megacorps, politicians, and clergy, as a definite implementation of that outcome
