       @epsi@akko.wtf you know which one is not becoming too expensive? fountain pens, i have a rule that i cannot spend more than 30€ on any model and i have managed to keep it that way

       @epsi kinda feel like it’s depending on what you want to do in the hobby though. A lot of hobbies you can get second hand equipment or cheap equipment. Some you can 3D print for and some are just the same price as ever. Only thing that seems to change is membership costs

       @Venefilyn things that are mentioned is things like skiing (apparently large companies are buying up mountains and making them into high cost resorts), fiber arts, cars, thrifting, etc. If you are younger then many of these were already out of reach, but when I was a youth things like cars were very much still within the realm of a possibility as a hobby

       @epsi @Venefilyn I think that arts and crafts tend to be not super expensive. It will obviously depend on what material and tools you use but the idea is you don't need too much to get started. Like some used sewing machine and some old clothes or even bedsheets (and or casings) can get you started with sewing. So much cool free videos to learn from. Sometimes even still feels like that older internet even :blobcat3c: Reading is also very accessible I think. (Thank you Libraries, doing gods work!) There is also other team-related stuff thats easy-ish and not super expensive to get in like football (though price of the gear did go up)
