       @steggy @plutarch try some out, if you can. I have a beautiful cello but sometimes wish I had a smaller model, as it's not comfortable at times.  I know someone who got a 7/8 size and it fits their hand and body so much better. An inexpensive instrument is good while you're learning to handle it. The rental I started on was pretty beaten up.
