       This is outrageous. And I highly recommend that people do what I do...GrapheneOS instead of vanilla Android (LineageOS if you have a non-Pixel Android phone).Vivaldi (Chromium engine), LibreWolf (Firefox engine).Certain Linux distros instead of Windows. I am using Kubuntu as my "daily driver," but I'm preparing to migrate to Gentoo because Canonical (Ubuntu) wants to push Gen AI, and Gentoo is the only major Linux distro so far to take an official anti Gen AI stance.        @kimcrawley @davidgerard I think Alpine Linux is a good choice. Its based on Gentoo but its well simpler to install and use. You can easily set up Gnome or KDE if you'd like, or use something else like LXQT, XFCE, Sway, Niri...

       @nieuemma @kimcrawley @davidgerard totally with you on thisI'm not clear on Alpine's AI stance yet (if anyone knows, I'd love to see the text) but due to its simplicity I think it's unlikely AI is going to ever be in it by default.

       @ariadne @nieuemma @kimcrawley @davidgerard Well, according to legend it *was* based on Gentoo back when dinosaurs roamed the earth (and shows up in the Gentoo family tree at https://dev.gentoo.org/~dilfridge/ecosystem.pdf). I admit I am surprised to hear this used as a point of comparison in this day and age... the Alpine of 2005 probably does not overly resemble the Alpine of 2026...
