       @jn @PowerDNS @famfo okay but i can’t get over how funny those three packages are. we didn’t saturate 8 cores with pdns during that 1Gbps DoS. one has to imagine a 10 or 40Gbps link saturated with DNS, but i think the linux kernel will literally fail first… even if it fares better on BSD, i kinda wanna see an auth deployment which needs 24 cores just for DNS :D

       @domi @PowerDNS @famfo at that point, i'm almost sure you're better off with two or three 8-core machines and a replication setup, because you get full redundancy in case of reboot or failure

       @jn @PowerDNS @famfo in general DNS benefits highly from lots of small, distributed machines. there are some caveats, but yeah, agreed ^^
