       @sam unfortunately yes. idk if you can avoid it when getting an android phone but iirc your phone will make you think it's necessary even if there's some secret way to avoid it.

       @sam@shonk.sam.ax @goes2hard@labyrinth.zone stock android is barely usable without a google account. especially now with that obnoxious side loading "protection" (you need a google account linked to your phone so you can request sideloading for your device, so that you can use your phone without a google account)
