       @rick Me logging in to a PC for one of our products and the Desktop Environment is... "broken" for a lack of better words. :floofMug: Turns out our boss asked the junior to setup remote desktop on that PC. And because we seniors were busy, the boss told the junior to use the AI assistant to figure it out. I have no fucking idea if that thing was running X, Wayland or both at the same time. Additionally the remote desktop server crashes when I try to connect from my desktop PC while it works from my laptop... :afloofLoad: If he had talked to us first, we would have pointed out that the remote desktop service was already setup and working on that PC... And even if not, we would have pointed to the internal wiki were we documented how to setup that and all the gotchas we've learnt. :floofCry:

       @yura @rick If there's a monitor connected we just use the Remote Desktop functionality of the Gnome DE and Remmina as the client. Works just fine.Foot-gun: If you auto-login the user like we do, the password-wallet won't get unlocked and the remote desktop service will just tell you, you entered the wrong password while trying to login to the remote desktop. Ugly solution: Unlock the wallet and (re)start the remote desktop service. :floofMug: This won't work without a connected monitor or if you want to remote to the login screen. There are ways to create a virtual desktop session and run the remote desktop service in it, but I don't remember what my colleagues ended up using and me being on vacation rn I cannot have a peek at the wiki either. :floofWoozy:
