I always thought the "hamburger button" was some sort of modern abomination, but no, there it is right there in Turbo Pascal 6.0

@deater78 But no one called it that. Everyone was copying the Mac, but obviously couldn't put the Apple logo there in their equivalent of the Apple menu, so they came up with various other symbols to use -- and in this case, Borland was simply copying the three horizontal lines of Windows 1.0's "system box" menu: http://toastytech.com/guis/win101.html

@vwestlife @deater78 I did some more research for a blog post coming up in half a year from now and found out my suspicion was correct as Apple has been copying most of Lisa and Macintosh from what Steve Jobs saw at Xerox PARC including GUI and mouse. So it's the opposite of what you stated: Apple copied the system menu part that Norm Cox designed for the Xerox Star in 1981.https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Norm_Cox_(designer)https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hamburger_buttonhttps://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Xerox_Star
