       At this point, is it even right to call systemd still an init? Tbh, for me it's getting further and further away from the concept of an init, it's a monster that's being given way too much power.

       For me, it’s more than just an ideological thing, tbh I’ve really distanced myself from all those anti-systemd people, my objections are just from a software point of view. I want an init, an init that does its job, and yeah systemd does its job, but it also does 1000 other things, it’s the definition of bloat.

       @nube I do want to change for ideological things. I think the core piece of an OS should not implement anything that threatens privacy (even just an optional field in a file, because that shows the direction of the project). I think privacy is the most important thing you need to really own a computer. If you don't have privacy, the computer will feel like using a borrowed tool, something you can use for some things but not for whatever you want. Like Martin Luther who rejects the Catholic Church because one can't love someone who is all the time judging him.In fact, this is the same reason why I use free software. I could use (and do use) proprietary software only if I'm sure that it won't connect to the internet. But the proprietary software I use is mostly Microslop™ stuff that school forces me to use :NKO_triste:

       @Simx72@tkz.one Runit me gusta, pero lleva 11 años en el abandono, y sabemos que eso no es algo recomendable. Sí, algunas distros que lo usan le meten sus propios parches y corrigen cosas que encuentren pero es un software que aunque no está archivado y muerto, lleva 11 años sin progresar.La complejidad y los problemas de SysVinit es lo que nos trajo precisamente a un ecosistema que abrazó systemd sin dudarlo, y s6, realmente no conozco ninguna distro que lo use o al menos no las que yo he usado, creo ​:neofox_owo:​OpenRC para mi es el punto dulce.
