       @lizzy This reminds me of the Revolutionary Communist Party's (U.S) really stupid position back in the 70s and 80s that homosexuality was petty bourgeois. This was while the party was quite advanced in a lot of ways, before their internal collapse post 9/11 for various reasons.

       @lizzy That's because of dogmatism resulting in a person's inability to apply theory (in a non-mechanical way) to new conditions as they're occurring. All they're able to do is argue which dead historical artifacts they should adopt, since all the hard work of struggling is done for them. Living in a rotting capitalism it's all too easy to default back to status quo ideology, not even being aware of doing so.
