       Chrome loaded a 4GB AI onto each install? In an age when many PCs have 256GB storage?Total disregard for the users. I used Chrome only for financial tasks. I'm ditching it for Safari and Edge. Keeping my heavily locked down Firefox for routine browsing.

       @mwl It's being reported today that if you use Edge with its built-in password manager it caches plaintext passwords in RAM. Oops.

       @cstross I pay for a separate password manager to avoid exactly this class of problem. I trust a small shop with audited code more than any behemoth.

       @mwl Don't know if you've run across Helium browser.https://helium.computer/Still early days, but it is based on chromium and comes with the full uBlock Origin.  Says it's privacy oriented and has no-bloat.Been trying it out and it loads quickly and plays nicely when a chromium browser is needed.
