       @quephird I love that the soundtrack was his *editing* soundtrack, while Alexander North composed an entire soundtrack inspired by it that Kubrick eventually jettisoned in favor of the originals. You can listen to North's compositions, and see why Kubrick was right to go with the two Strausses and Ligeti and so on. Kinda sucked to be North, though.

       @ceejbot *nods vigorously*IIRC, Gyorgi Ligeti was supposedly _very_ upset with Kubrick for using his pieces in the film... which seems very odd to me because the music itself sounded incredibly otherworldly as well

       @quephird boy, Ligeti sure was being silly. Kubrick was giving him AMAZING publicity, Kubrick being Kubrick. But he did figure that out eventually.
