⚖️ The internet blackout in #Iran is now entering its 67th day after passing incident hour 1584. The digital censorship measure casts a veil of silence around the growing number of reported executions, denying victims visibility, accountability, and the basic right to be heard.

@netblocks you mean reported executions like the public beheadings in Saudi Arabia or death by shooting squad in the US? Denying victims visibility like in Gaza, Lebanon, or the Epstein victims? Accountability like impunity for Israel? The right to be heard like the Amazon workers?I thought the Internet blackout was a necessary measure for a country at war to defend itself against the Mossad, not a cover-up all of those scandals that do no happen anywhere else in the "civilized world".

@timagal @netblocks Whataboutism does not make an internet blackout or state killings “necessary.” Islamic republic of Iran has its own record of censorship, mass arrests, torture, sham trials, public executions, state-backed rape system, and beheading of protesters and dissidents. Hiding that behind claims about Mossad or war is not a defense; it is exactly why accountability matters. Opposing abuses elsewhere does not excuse the ones happening here.

@danialbehzadi @netblocks yes, we should actually prioritize them, no matter how many Shekels they pay us to state otherwise.
