@AzulCrescent@tech.lgbt not really a skill issue, the modern dating game only really works if you're neurotypical and ideally cishetIMO meeting someone interesting is much more likely through fedi or bsky than on basically any of the dating apps or IRL (unless you get really lucky)

@alice I appreciate the comment, and i think what you say is true. Im not sure that venue is open for me due to me being a .... "public figure". It feels easily abused and imbalanced(in both ways), and ive had a scare with one of my readers being extremely parasocially attached to me to the point of professing their love and life to me (when i knew nothing about them) that i dont think i want to take that chance. Thank you for your empathy though.

@AzulCrescent 🫂🫂🫂I promise you that love young isn't everything. The right person can appear at any time. My person found me in my 40's. I know others who found their person later in life.Be open to possibilities. Life will happen. Often when you least expect it

@AzulCrescent while you may never get young love, it's never too late for old love. I feel your hurt, but if this is something you desire please don't give up on yourself.

@AzulCrescent When I was younger, I used to think that love was "weird" and maybe I didn't deserve to have someone with me.But after sometime in HRT, I understood that my emotions were buried deep inside me. Took sometime to love myself and finally understood that the correct person will appear at the right time.To my own surprise, I did confess my love to someone (we were together for 7~ months). Right now, I only want to still be happy with myself and share joy with friends and family.

@AzulCrescent I don't feel most people date early (but I just assumed ; at 35 I still never have entertained the idea of "doing the flirty thing" -and I'm not planing to. I guess I'm more into 2D esthetics at some point. Your ilk fault ! Aaah !)

@AzulCrescent In the interest of crossing streams, perhaps the two part series of @girlonthenet's "I want to be loved" can help.https://www.girlonthenet.com/blog/i-want-to-be-loved/ (part 1, about wrestling with the vulnerability that comes from admitting you might want someone to love you) and https://www.girlonthenet.com/blog/but-not-at-any-cost/ (part 2, about how finding people who are good means both looking for the specifics of someone and standing up for yourself when a partner is a boundary-violator or otherwise worse than being without.)

@AzulCrescent I didn't get my first girlfriend until I was 27, and that relationship led to marriage and divorce (she cheated on me), and I've only got my second real relationship at 48 (6 years ago) that's leading to marriage this year. Be patient, be yourself, and don't give up!

@AzulCrescent I always think about how much time I've lost and how I also didn't have the experiences that others had. That's just how it is if you're queer and awkward around people, like I am. The thing is though that I'm pretty much at a point where it doesn't hurt as much anymore since I now can surround myself with people who I can be comfortable being myself with. Because that was always the biggest issue for me, not that I was not attractive and too shy, but that I felt like I had to hide a part of myself in the past.I hope your pain about lost life experiences in the past diminishes and you can try to build some experiences in the present.

@AzulCrescent My first relationship was when I was 20. And it mostly happened online. Now I'm 23, and I still haven't had anything else. Do I worry about it? Of course. So yes, you are not alone. *hug*

@AzulCrescent I think if I didn't find my wife, I'd probably still be alone. I think there's more luck and randomness in it than a lot of people admit. And yeah, I think being trans is a contributing factor. When I was a kid, straight girls didn't like me for ~some mysterious reason~.(If you moved to Portland, OR, USA you will probably immediately find a trans girlfriend, the only catch is she might be kinda weird, and also our federal government is evil and scary)
