       @johan I'm surprised that the idea of creating a LinkedIn replacement didn't come up... Some kind of federated employer / employee networking platform in the Fediverse could be interesting. (Although, so far, my thoughts on how to approach such a project have been not been fruitful...)

       @zzepposs @johan I see what Johan did using the JSON resume template as a starting point... And that is a start, however it doesn't have the functionality of a LinkedIn.I kind of hit a brick wall with the concept... The big thing that LinkedIn does that other social websites don't is they link your resume to a database of businesses. And making connections largely evolves around your resume (ie, connecting with co-workers from the businesses on your resume).That's a concept that I don't have a clue how to approach in a Federated network.

       @johan @zzepposs Linked data to what, exactly? Legitimate businesses? Who's the authority? What verifies someone's claim that they were employed by a specific company or institution?It's a bit more involved when you consider the whole model LinkedIn was able to come up with.Linked data would definitely be a method for correlating the data. It's how the data is actually located, and all the operations that need to be performed on it that are more complex.

       @johan @zzepposs Yes, but that doesn't do a whole lot...What I am talking about is claiming that you worked for a company that you did not work for.I believe, IIRC, that businesses that meet some (unknown) criteria can set requirements.  For example, I can claim I am an IBM employee, but unless I have an email address on an IBM domain, and can respond from said account I won't be verified.This determines whether LinkedIn will try to connect you with other employees from a company... It has an effect on how your network is built, since LinkedIn networks are multi-tiered and have implied relationships.

       @zzepposs @johan Interesting - I hadn't seen that one before.  Three person project, AGPLv3 license. Looks like a kind heavy installation.Only real objection that some might have is the use Claude in writing it.
