       @itsfoss It depends on the type of Ubuntu or Mint. There's the standard Linux Mint, which is just an Ubuntu derivative, and then there's Linux Mint/Debian, which is a direct derivative of Debian. It also depends on which daemons/applications you have installed and are running. Generalisations such as 'Ubuntu always uses more RAM than Mint' don't help anyone. It's the sum of several factors.

       @itsfoss Just switched down from Think Pad T14 AMD 16GB RAM to Think Pad 480 with 8th gen i5 and 8GB RAM. So 2-3x slower CPU in benchmarks + half the RAM. Aaaand it works faster in basic daily tasks on Mint/Cinnamon than T14 on Ubuntu/Gnome. And I like Cinnamon much better. 👍

       @itsfoss not quite 99% of the time i see people with ram problem it's due to the browser who swallow most of it ... on both ubuntu and mint
