       Doing some maintenance on my wife's machine, including backups. Windows backup is looking to be a clown show.There was a folder on the desktop with a non-ASCII character in the name (a cdot, ·). It has a lot stuff in it, but it's older we need to remove it.I ran the backup.But because I don't trust programmers in general, I was cautious. So I checked the backup drive. That folder wasn't there!I replaced the cdot with a space and - voila! - the folder is backed up.Trust level? LOW.

       Obvious follow up: how many other files has this happened with?I could do the analysis to find out, but jeez... my wife just wants some free space.

       @GeoffWozniak my girlfriend runs GNU/Linux :D and restic so far hasn’t had any trouble backupping things…
