       it has no right to exist—a crime against the universe itself. and yet it LIVES!!!hdmi to vga was fucking up the edidso i tried bypassing the lines, but then it stopped being detected altogetherso i restored the lines... and broke the pcb in the process, so I had to add bodge wires1.5 years later I tried to restore the lines without bodge wires, and made the PCB even worsenow i have two bodge wires, four lost resistors/jumpers, and hardened solder mask that looks like a translucent cloudy stainit was *not* worth it to solder, vs. getting a new one with a cable instead of hard-wired plugbut it was worth it as microsoldering and solder mask practice before i open up my switchbecause i'd rather break a $20 dongle than a $100 console

       @domi i had the joke on the tip of my tongue and couldn't craft the right word to fill in the blankshrug it's less bad than using the slop machine for real work
