       @mkljczk@pl.fediverse.pl @Blender@mastodon.social At least there's a statememt regarding that now.No generative AI functionality is currently available or planned to be integrated in Blender.I mean, I kinda get your point but at the same time, at our last foss meeting, a topic came up about big players basically influencing the projects and steering them in the direction they want with money. Which - I think - is why this topic was so loud and became an issue amongst the community.

       @luna @mkljczk @Blender it's complicated, IMO. Sponsorships are a natural part of funding FOSS. But at the same time there are different kinds of sponsors. If the money comes from a sleazy company people may be afraid about the future of the project.If Palantir wanted to donate, I think it would also raise alarm.Is it still good faith sponsorship or is it the beginning of a hostile takeover?

       @DoomHammerNG @luna @Blender Just as if Blender never accepted corporate sponsorships before. There are no ‘good faith sponsorships’ unless it’s like from an indie game studio, just marketing stuff that’s coincidentally also beneficial to FOSS users.The fedi community really shares something with techbros, I mean both overreact to any slight mention of ‘AI’.

       @phnt @luna @Blender @DoomHammerNG actually AMD HIP support in Blender is not as mature as CUDA support is, Blender used to run better through a ZLUDA translation layer. but it doesn't seem like anyone's disrupting progress on AMD gpu support and stuff's getting better looking at the benchmarks
