       @jalefkowit There's been work on swappable batteries, so what I think might be interesting is a car with a built in modest sized battery but slots to add in a longer range battery when needed.So you could save on weight with a car that usually has ~100 mi range, but could add in another couple hundred miles if you were taking a long trip.

       @alienghic @jalefkowit I'm astonished there's no cars with built in solar panels yet, or even solar addons. It's not like I use my luggage rack.

It takes a lot of efficiency improvements before hours in the sun makes that many miles of travel

       @alienghic @twipped @jalefkowit i though i would charge my phone with solar when bike packing. I had a similar setup albeit much smaller. It didn't seem to charge at all.
