       why are all the robot vacuums round? Do other houses not have corners?[edit to add: I have two Neatos, they have square corners for the vacuum end and do just fine in corners. But the Neato is no more.]

       @mwl My OCD requires me to point out that in Robert Heinlein's "The Door Into Summer" (1957?), he invented the robot vacuum.  Great descriptions of features no modern version has.But still no mention of corners, alas.Maybe these vacuums should include a sort-of leaf-blower function: When you hit a corner, blast it with air to move the debris out to where you can get it.

       @mwl @PiiiepsBrummm It'll depend on how it decides on how to deal with a room.  The original Roomba was mostly a dumb random walk, and spent a lot of time bouncing on things until it could go around them.  It also spent a lot of time getting caught on cords.Newer devices have more sensors and can be less dumb about how they interact with the environment.
