       @meeper@udongein.xyz fair criticism but as someone who has long argued that websites should be more like traditional applications that use a set of native widgets instead of everything being bespoke, I also think this is a good thing

       @anemone @meeper it'd be kind of neat to be able to have websites be basically "web apps" but closer to native, with the contents being fetched and the app somehow being assembled locally.

       @anemone @meeper it’s nothing new either. remember when every website had the same bootstrap theme?i will never forgive google for killing off CSS system colors by hardcoding them, and then years later we get some dark/light mode bullshityou can’t tell me there are no ways to make that work without hiding it from fingerprinting methods
