       The con I'm attending next month wants $300 PER DEVICE if you're going to be using wifi in your booth. So I guess I won't be using wifi.

       @piggo @ajroach42 Maybe? I remember them disappearing in ‘90s. Last time I saw one being used was by a taxi driver for a cab ride in 2015 and I some of my cards still had embossed numbers.The US has always been behind on payment card tech but I imagine these would have been widely used everywhere before electronic processing terminals.

       @Famicoman @piggo They fell off in the US in the mid 90s, around the time that swiping became the norm, yeah. The gig I worked in 08/09 still used them, and it was *very* weird.
