       It feels like some recent EU decisions are actively the least useful and likely most unintentionally harmful they could've come up with. Like mandating USB-C laptop charging is just banning all laptops that use more than 140 W (and even then, it is incredibly difficult to find third-party USB PD chargers that actually support 140 W and actually function).Or especially mandating replacable phone batteries. That is really the singular thing about modern vs. older phone design that is most justifiable. So they're basically just de facto banning waterproof portable devices (or, given the incessant posts from multiple people about the Fairphone, banning even slightly dustproof devices)

       @nytpu  Although it may be practically true, I do not think it is technically true they are banning all 141+W laptops.        Apparently there's 240 W USB-PD now, but have fun finding chargers for it and stuff that is labelled honestly and actually functions reliably

       @mrcopilot @nytpu My ASUS Zephyrus G14 (GA402RK) has both a barrel jack for a 240W (20V 12A) charger, and a USB-C port it can charge through.I doubt it can accept more than 20V through USB-C, so that'd cap it at 100W, but being able to charge it through USB-C in a pinch is pretty sick IMO.And it's not the only laptop that does that - a quick look at vendors' website shows that they already offer gaming laptops with 400W proprietary charger + 140W USB-C charging.

       @mrcopilot @nytpu So I don't think 140W+ laptops will disappear in practice.Unbundling of chargers sounds more concerning for these high-power ones, especially on the second-hand market, where someone may've not bought the proprietary charger originally, so now can't sell it to you with the laptop...
