       is there a plugin for GIMP where i can see relevant camera EXIF info in a docked tab? (not the manual, external window thing that's under image→metadata→view metadata)

       @mntmn Not sure about GIMP and apologies if the recommendation is irrelevant, but Gwenview has an info tab in a sidebar that can be set up to show that.

       @0 not only as a viewer, but my workflow is that i just import all the pictures from a shoot into gimp (because i don't need a fancy RAW workflow, i just go via JPEGs), and i want to see what camera settings i used for particular shots, and quickly adjust the image for export incl detail edits/cleanups that gimp is good for (healing brush, or paint away some dirt on the floor, ...). i just load all pics from the camera at once and close the tabs of the pics that i discard

       @mntmn ah yes mouse sees. that makes a lot of sense. unfortunately in that case it doesn't have a good suggestion. best it could do is make a small script that puts the relevant info into the filename

       @mntmn this mouse is pretty sure that gimp (3) plugins are not able to get registered as windows -> dockable dialogs :neobot_sad:
