       Expectations: nice photos in pretty dresses among cherry blossoms.Reality: several hundreds of lice or fleas (look more like lice) of various sizes, ranging from 0.5mm to 3mm.Zero idea how this could have happened, I felt itching like five minutes after removing my jacket in order to shoot some photos, and turned out the fabric on my shoulders were covered in lice, and a lot of them also crawled further down or inside to bite my shoulders and back. Thankfully none seem to have gotten on the head, idk.There was not a single one on the jacket, so I couldn't have gotten them on S-Bahn, I must have gotten them within these five minutes... but these five minutes we were in an alley, under trees, with other people or dogs quite far away, I would understand one or two insects but not literally hundreds (we removed around 200-400 there, and who knows how many are left). And they were all on me, none on wife.Nor could they live on the dress because we were wearing dresses that were hanging next to that one just a few days ago and there were no lice.No idea what to do now (besides washing everything on me today at high temperature), no idea what these insects were (lice seems to be the closest match but not perfect), no idea how I got so many of them.

       @IngaLovinde did they actually bite? There is a type of insect that around this time of year gets attracted to certain colors and so if you wear the wrong thing you will get swarmed in minutes. But afaik they dont bite, but could otherwise look like lice. Although they fly

       @lunathemoongirl they did bite (or at least the places some of them were were itching, and also many of them were filled with blood), and only crawled, didn't fly from what I've seen.

       Although maybe it was S-Bahn after all?If a bottom part of the seat was infested, they could have crawled from the seat on my dress around the butt. And then they might have all (or at least most of them) started crawling upwards, finally getting to my shoulders half an hour later.And maybe the upper part of the seat was not infested, or maybe the jacket was too smooth for them to get hold of.This would explain most of it...

       I didn't even go to Chaos Congress, and all I got were these lousy insects.(Yes, there were a few head ones thrown in the mix, although this was negligible compared to hundreds of body ones.)Damn these medical shampoos are _expensive_, and also next 10 days are going to be fun for both of us.(Hopefully we'll get lucky and turns out that there are no more besides the five we found in our hair both before and after that medical spray + thin comb, and that they didn't have time to lay eggs. And that all remaining body/clothing ones were killed by high-temperature steam mode of the washing machine.)

       @s0 but how could 200 to 400 body lice and a handful of head lice fall on me from a cherry tree...I would understand if there were several, but not _that_ many.
