@gamingonlinux Might be a cool game in the future, but not now. They should add a story mode and they *need* to improve graphics. It is 2026.

@gamingonlinux You heard it here first: In the next reorg, M365 is being moved into the Xbox division.

@gamingonlinux That's a terribly minor issue compared to the penultimate bullet.

@gamingonlinux you know, them thinking that this is entertainment would explain so much.

@gamingonlinux This is your friendly, periodic reminder that Office 2016 still works in 2026 and doesn't have any of that AI crap.Spellcheck is local, does not hallucinate, and all the standard document formats are supported. Also blazingly fast on modern hardware.https://archive.org/details/microsoft-office-2016-professional-plus-32-and-64-bit

@gamingonlinux 1/2 "You shouldn't share any information with Copilot that you don't want us to review."Which covers pretty much everything apart from what I post in public places such as Mastodon and a couple of other forums on the internet. This is also is exactly why Copilot and all other AI data scraping systems should be EXPLICITLY OPT IN.And that refusing to opt in is seen as a permanent decision.

@gamingonlinuxThe entertainment is, when your boss insists on you using it and you can basically do what you want and afterwards say: " Oh, I wrote something different. Copilot must have edited it without me noticing."

@gamingonlinux companies are on this constant tug of war with themselves where they want to sell their fancy autocorrects as serious work tools you should pay money for, but also they do not want to be held responsible for the huge liabilities that they are, it would be fascinating if it wasn't so ingrained in our actual living experience

@gamingonlinux For sure - copilot is just there to distract you from the 90% load bar, where the last 10% need an equal time, like the 90% before - enough time to prompt the most important question "How can you eliminate the large technology companies and switch to a self-hosted open-source solution? Create an exit strategy with simple, chronological steps."😎

@gamingonlinux Hate to be the party pooper here; but Microsoft has two Copilot products: one for business and one for consumer. One is provided as an AI productivity tool as part of the Microsoft 365 suite and the other is a public version that anyone with a public Microsoft account can access for "entertainment" purposes. One thing you can count on Microsoft for is confusing naming and marketing of it's products. :pepe_cool:

@gamingonlinux Anyone have a link to the MS T&C with those clauses? Extra thanks if they cover the business products...?(Thinking of some people I'd really like to share them with.)

@gamingonlinux Is anyone seriously a co-pilot "subscriber" -- actually paying for it?!!

@gamingonlinux its kinda already here. I accidentally hit some pop up button and it sparkledogged my document to death and autosaved it. Control Z/undo did nothing. Took me 45 minutes to repair the damage.
