Because corporations really like their permissively licensed stuff...But they haven't done that so that must mean that GNU must be better because for most people it can't be replaced with a permissive licensed alternative.

@SuperDicq @mangeurdenuage I mean they have though.If you buy a small to mid sized firewall appliance it runs pfSense/OpnSense, almost everything embedded running Linux uses Busybox or Android, containers use Alpine with busybox quite a lot with small exceptions, if you want an actually stable file server with a filesystem that won't randomly blow up on you FreeBSD is pretty much the only "free" way. What GNU has is desktop and the generic server space where it is losing grip (at least on Ubuntu).

@SuperDicq @mangeurdenuage I don't trust it to not destroy data at random and I've been running it on my main machine for the last 5 years. I've had it corrupt multiple times over the years. It's not ready, Oracle gave up and SUSE isn't up to the task. It still reports incorrect free space on purpose, still looses its mind when running out of free space and the data/metadata block fragmentation bug leading to no free space with zero signs has been there for since I remember. RAID5 writehole still not fixed.
