@80085 Also I swear they're ending Xenoverse 2 on the note of everyone versus the main cast of DBZ. Those fuckers are having Fu hit the Supreme Kai of Time with his super villain beam. What even is his goal? This whole thing was only a matter of him wanting to save the main character from the bad future he saw. Pretty sure fucking over the entire present and history by making everyone a super villain doesn't fix anything. :cirno_what2: They're even ending the final DLC trailer with the implication that Goku is going to save the day again with a new power. :akko_tired:

@AngelCelt @80085 No idea what they did for him in Heroes but Xenoverse and Heroes have had a pretty big separation this whole time. From the looks of it it seems like they're just going to make him tame the Ultra Supervillain power Fu has been throwing around to turn it into Ultra Superhero instead.

@80085 Probably for the best, if Xenoverse 3 lives up to the trailer offering the idea it will actually be a somewhat unique setting of Dragon Ball with stuff happening that might actually be different from the cheapest differences Xenoverse 2 had. There's only a few standout plots in Xenoverse 2 and basically all of em are DLC. I like Xenoverse more because it's fun over being well made.

@luithe @theorytoe @80085 Crazy. I got a brand new RoG Ally and the motherfucker STILL can't run it without dipping to like 45 fps even at 900p. Awful PC game.I know the Ally isn't a high end machine but it was $1500 after all the accessories I had to buy and it's a 10 year old game.

@AngelCelt @theorytoe @80085 @luithe I only just saw this, that is insane considering Xenoverse 2 is the kind of game that I'm pretty sure can run on a standard iGPU in a laptop, at least assuming a relatively newer CPU. :thonk: I've genuinely tested this before too, DBXV2 is a pretty light game overall. Also ran fine on Steam Deck which I believe is slightly weaker technically than the Ally. Not sure what it doesn't like about the RoG Ally that could possibly cause this issue.

@Iffine @theorytoe @80085 @luithe Probably just some idiosyncratic Japanese bullshit. All the other games run fine except Sparking Zero, had to write my own custom config for it to render more lightly than minimum setting, but FighterZ and Kakarot are both fine at above 1080p.

So weird since by all means Kakarot and FighterZ should be 10x more intensive compared to DBXV2, the literal only difference between DBXV2 and DBXV in terms of engine is slightly larger areas. It's still running the same base engine and targeting basically PS3/X360 performance, seeing as the game was a rush job released merely a year after the first. Then again, the port job was also outsourced to a third party who have left the game in a less than ideal state. :akko_tired: I love the game but I can't deny it's a complete mess. The anti-cheat implementation is complete dogshit and frankly should've just never been added. It never stopped any cheating and most people play the game for the co-op and doing stuff with friends anyways.

@luithe @80085 @theorytoe Additive to this, though I haven’t yet tried it myself, it’s possible that using the XV2 patcher could bypass the issue as it has an option to bypass anti-cheat but still access online. Only problem is you can only do it with others running the patcher and if anyone uses mods all players need to have the exact same mod setup. :cirno_think:

The reveal trailer made it seem like it's really leaning in on being in Age 1000 rather than making the player do something dumb like punch Cooler during the Cell Games. Future glind idol, threats in the city, the player taking on the mantle of being part of a Great Saiyan Squad. Also zero mention of time patrol (though time will definitely still be involved, there's no way they make a DB game without having Goku show up). :thinkinghrr: I really want something unique with the fun, nonsense gameplay of DBXV. Plus the game has supposedly been in development for nearly 6 years now. I guess the first sign of how DBXV3 will end up will probably be how DBXV2's final DLC ends, because it's seemingly trying to act as a conclusion to the time patrol.

@AngelCelt @theorytoe @80085 @luithe I'm leaning towards polish but I do have doubts too. At the very least it wasn't the only project DIMPS was working on, so it makes sense to take a while. In the time DBXV3 was being developed, DBXV2 was still getting DLC and DB Breakers killed itself with more gusto than Vegeta with about the same level of impact (none). That's just Dragon Ball stuff, DIMPS does a lot overall. At the least games like DBXV seem to be their favorites to work on and the absolute best of their lineup. CaC nonsense in an anime style seems to speak to them, seeing as some of their other titles are stuff like SAO Fatal Bullet and Freedom Wars.

Parallel Quests are alternate dimensions/timelines that split off from the main one. Sometimes that would mean upholding some rather dumb versions of history, like Uub being mentored by Frieza.I think more likely it’s going to be a situation where time is converging on Age 1000’s West City, at least from the trailer. Not enough to judge yet. Then again anything goes because Bulma is still alive and looks younger than she does in Super. :cirno_what2: Someone stop her.

Everyone in the time patrol are a bunch of dorks and it makes em endearing to me. Future Trunks especially comes off like such a dork in Xenoverse. Plus I get to be part of a fun irony as Freiza tells me "You would've been the greatest in the universe, if only I weren't around" while he's on the floor dead from my CaC tiny female majin hitting him with one attack. The bigger problem is how often Goku is brought out in DBXV2. The fact winning the final boss without him is skill dependent is funny (you need to win before Goku shows up), but it's not implied at all so if you don't know then it just seems like Goku is mandatory to win. Then some DLC don't even let you do that much.
