       I think I’ve put my finger on why the discourse about AI on Mastodon grates me.All the posts I see do nothing but reinforce the feeling of powerlessness. All leave me wondering “and what now?”Does anyone write about the geopolitical implications of it? Are there groups organizing to think about how to improve the situation?I think we’ve had our fair share of rants against AI, they’re not helping anymore.

       @thibaultamartin i am trying to go against the sense of hopelessness and trying to organize people to actually reach out to projects and get full genai bans in placeto reach out to others and form a unified front, including all affected professions, against all of this abusive technology, with the goal of pushing it away as much as possiblei don't at all believe the situation is hopeless, the hopelessness rhetoric (genie is out of the bottle, can't stop progress, bla bla) is just a tactic by the tech industry to push its bs through
