       for some reason "Implementation of Programming Languages" at my uni is some sort of code word for type theory / theorem proof assistant stuff and I aint complaining but its such a weird way to label ita while ago i signed up to this "design and implementation of programming languages" seminar expecting to like implement an interpreter or compiler for some small programming language or whatever and then we ended up writing an introductory paper to Lean and the Curry Howard Isomorphism? like, what. and im probably gonna do my bachelor thesis with that group of postdocs as well

       @mirabilos my uni is known for being very theory focused (compared to other unis too). I intentionally chose it this way actually because there's nothing practical uni could have taught me anyway; I already had a ton of programming and sysadmin experience when I graduated school. I'm actually quite enjoying the theory heaviness now.

       @lottie the one here reportedly passed people with a diploma in CS who had never even touched a computer, in even this millennium.(Not entirely wrong as it’s CS, not IT… but eurghs.)
