@hazel@shrimp.starlightnet.work doing a self-install is possible but harder than doing it on someone else. I would recommend that you only do a self-install as a last resort or if you want to do so because it feels fulfilling despite being harder and riskier. I can totally understand the latter and in fact I've been pondering doing a self-install just to prove to myself that I can, but for now I have no plans to do so. It's better if you get experience doing it on others first though.But if it's a last resort, consider a buddy install instead, where you have someone to assist you.I would also gladly supervise you doing a self-install, either IRL or over a video call! I would recommend that you at least go over the steps of the procedure with someone who's knowledgeable about it before you attempt it.A self install is harder because you can only use one of your hand if you're implanting the other.For an X-series, you need to tent the skin while inserting the needle, which normally requires two hands, so you need something else to do that. You probably want to use a clamp for that, maybe a slotted Pennington clamp, which applies pressure over a greater area.Test the clamp before doing the procedure to make sure it doesn't clamp too hard and that it's stable. You can also use rubber bands if the clamping mechanism goes too hard. Ideally the clamp should be sterile as it may fall over onto the needle and contaminate it. That means you need to use a disposable one (idk if those exist), or need access to a sterilisation method like an autoclave or hydrogen peroxide.You also want to really plan the procedure ahead. Fewer hands means less freedoms in how you can handle things. @iro_miya I just did a self implant on the glowing magic in my finger. It is my first attempt and I didn't know what I was doing, but I was enthusiastic and had no one to be a buddy in the process so I just did it. I hope it heals well.Maybe if we cross paths you might help me in the future 😅
