       I have a few small FOSS apps up on Github, which I wonder if they are actually used. Every time I need to do some maintenance on those, like framework or package upgrades, I'm wondering if I should bother. Is anyone actually using this?I'm always tempted to add some usage tracker into it then. A simple HTTP call would do. But then I think naaah, that's kinda creepy no?So I don't. But I wonder how others handle this. You don't care? Do it some other way?#FOSS

       @n3wjack@mastodon.social I personally think telemetrics are only ethical if they are an opt-in feature.But the best way to figure if someone is actually your package is to just break stuff and see if you get any complaints.
