@stux To be fair If Mastodon had as much traffic as BlueSky I’d imagine more instances would be having issues. And it would probably take even longer to fix as most of these instances are run as hobbies and people still have lives and day jobs. An uber large influx actually being balanced across servers id imagine would still be rough. Guess we may never know

Blacksky also appears to be having problems. This might be obvious to those who understand things better than I do, but my impression was that they were going quite far to be as independent as possible. @stux

@stux The closest equivalent in Fedi is if mastodon.social went down.Which would be big news, but it wouldn't bring the whole federation down. Everybody on another server, including almost everyone in this thread, would still be around to shitpost about it.
