       So, I can't for the life of me find any SFF-8674 cages for sale, only SFF-8644 which are only rated for 12Gb/s..But you /can/ kinda find SFF-8674 cables, but they are stupid expensive,So rather than use SFF-8644/SFF-8674 which are the "proper" cables for this, I might just go with QSFP28...

       The big issue is I need to avoid any active/special cables with conditioning, I really just need all the twinax lanes to be direct...

       I mean, I /might/ be able to push 16Gb/s down an SFF-8644 which is only rated for 12Gb/s, but I really wouldn't want to chance it...

       @Bobo_PK No, these need to be rugged external cables that can handle being plugged/unplugged quite a few times, oculink is too fragile

       @lethalbit I understand. USB-C then probably too. DAC QSFP+ is not really cheap but probably a good way to go.

       So, Amphenol /does/ make SFF-8674 compliant connectors, the biggest ouch is the price of the cables now, So I very well might need to just use QSFP28, you can get the short DAC cables for 25-50USD, the downside is they eat up a whole lotta board space, because wide.Also the impedance mismatch is not-ideal....
