       @eff But that's literally incompatible with a ton of US laws. The US surveillance state likes the US population vulnerable to the American siloviki.Starting from “lawful interception” (what is lawful? What the government says, especially with checks and balances as suppressed as the #GOP has managed to suppress them), to the full buffet of intelligence laws.It worked in the Cold War, when both sides used at least somewhat different technology, but today?

       Today any move to make the technology easier to intercept against the “enemy” or “criminals” (yes, that includes these bad pedophiles, not the good pedophiles in the White House) also weakens the same technology used by normal citizens and normal businesses.It's basically an impossible requirement: "Make the safe impenetrable, but build in an undetectable backdoor that only the 'good guys'—whose definition can be changed at a whim—can easily access.”

       @effMythos kinda kills this idea.Everything is hackable now, and you can guarantee that the 3-letters (CIA, FBI, Mossad, etc.) and big tech will use it in secret even if they claim to shut it down.
