@lina mostly because everyone else seems to lease their Vectrons from companies like ELL, Beacon (née Dispolok), or Cargounit; nowadays it’s near impossible to buy a brand new one, unless you order them a decade in advance ( and that’s only slightly exaggerated )

@ptrc@lina I'm fairly certain DSB owns theirs? Siemens even published a press release about them buying the 1000th unit.

@freya @lina fair point :3but then, they're mostly used on the ECs, as far as i'm aware? and maybe some of the double-deckers on Kystbanen, though i haven't taken one of those in ages

@ptrc@lina they got rid of all their diesel locomotives AFAIK, which they used for the double decker carriages. The Vectrons replaced them.The Vectrons came well before the EC Talgos

@ptrc@lina oh, and they also have Vectrons that can't run to Germany. I know this because they accidentally put the wrong locomotive on my EC train once, and I later got to question DSB about it at their operations center. At least I wasn't on the next EC departure, which got raided by cops in a high profile criminal case.
