       Really struggled to update Mom's old iPad from iOS 18 to 26 due to insufficient storage. First did a factory reset and immediately tried to update- still no go on the storage.Then downloaded the windows software and did an update by USB which failed and hung on the iPad's update screen. Had to go into recovery mode, where a second update attempt, after a long time, worked. It's not her main device but I didn't want it sitting around without important updates.

       I never skimp on storage anymore- this was my old device, and since I only planned on reading manga and stuff, I got  the minimum storage configuration for it.

       @aceattveg I always have arguments with my wife about storage requirements on these devices. I always opt for more storage, even with the premium costs that Apple makes us pay in order to avoid these kinds of issues later.
