       This is why I went, instead, with a third party eBook device (Supernote X2 Manta) with a replaceable battery, replaceable motherboard and accepts SD cards.  The company seems to love open source and makes their devices highly repairable and upgradable.

       @MaddestMax So far, I'm adoring this fucking thing and it makes my old Nook look like garbage.. plus I got the pen so I can draw, notate and write in it and it does it fluidly and perfectly with pressure sensitivity and a flippy-pencil eraser on the other end too!   It's... PERFECT!

       @Dan_Ramos it's open source ereader software you can side-load on to most ereaders, the Manta included. It has added functionality. It runs alongside the other stuff, so you can remove it if it doesn't offer any advantages. I have it on my Mono and love it.

       @Dan_Ramos I was on the fence about loading a new OS on my older kindle. The battery is shot and now with the no new updates I don't have anything to loose.
