       Tired of seeing installation videos from bodyart "professionals" who will poke the needle bevel up whereas literally all the Dangerous Things educational material says to do it bevel down, especially for flex implants

       @maya@catgirl.global yeah so the big difference is that the needle is so large that a significant chunk of skin could get trapped in the centre, which is undesirable and may result in a weird incision or unnecessary damageThe skin is being pulled at the same time, so one wants to have the bevel opposite to the side that is being pulled, so that as soon as the incision starts, the skin pulls back the other way and doesn't get stuck in the needle!

       @maya@catgirl.global @4censord@unfug.social although I wanna reassure anyone who might be scared that although this is the same idea as the anti coring method, your skin cannot be cored like that because it is very strong. In this case it's just to make a better incision, but like, you'll be fine if your artist does it wrong, although it's suboptimal
