       interesting (slightly annoying) discussion with my (also #ActuallyAutistic) daughter.she maintains that you should apologise if you upset someone, _even if you did nothing wrong and they have completely invented a slight from you in their head_. this is, of course, a common scenario for autists, and not at all a stretch.i maintain that you can be concilaitory, ask what you can do next time to avoid this happenning. but you should not have to apologise; they should own their emotions.what do you think?

       @fishidwardrobe@social.tchncs.de my stand on this is that apologising is acknowledging you have made a mistake; if something offends someone but they're in the wrong for being offended, it is on them
