       Wow, whenever I stray off the Fedi path and end up on other social media, I'm reminded how wholesome y'all are! 🥰When I post here, I only get the occasional reply guy, troll KYSses, or slightly inappropriate comment.Out there I see some of the most repugnant shit.I like it here much better.

       @alice There is no way a massive centralized platform like Twitter or Facebook can ever reach the level of moderation on the FediverseThey are too big for the safety of their users, neither do they want to moderate though..At least here it's spread over thousands of servers with each their own team/peoplePlus the amazing community who helps a lot with reports!

       @stux @alice It doesn't help that many of the major social media platforms are owned and/or run by people who are themselves pretty terrible, and then the fish rots from the head(which is a result of systemic and/or larger forces)

       @stux @alice Can confirm. Used to be part of a Facebook group and was asked to be a mod and it was hell. The amount of crap we had to sift through, petty fights we had to quell and just general BS was painful. And the tools Meta provided were so poor, it made the job very difficult. In the end, the whole group imploded because the leader didn't like we weren't doing things his way.
