       @ariadne I don't get it.  Why do we want to move?Because of a pending court case -- unrelated to mstdn.ca -- that hasn't been proven in court, meaning "innocent until proven guilty"?Several people have posted this CBC article from a week ago, this is not new.  I don't know the admin personally, I'm not here to either defend nor judge him in the court of public opinion.  I do think we should let the justice system run it's course before we decide how and if this will impact mstdn.ca and whether we need to move to another server.Unless there is something else I'm missing?  Do you have personal issues with the admin?

       @charette the suggestion is not based on a value judgement of the admin, but rather the operational reality that the admin may not be in a position to continue running the instance as a result of the litigation.

       @ariadne You're suggesting publicly that people move.  I just wanted to know if there was more to the story that isn't in the CBC story.  Because I've seen this come up a few times over the past week, and I don't understand why certain people seem to find "humour" in this.  And by humour, I mean your "lol" text about it.What you wrote:  "... you might want to move lol"This is why I asked if you have other knowledge or previous dealing with the person in question.

       @charette yes, i am suggesting that people move because there is an operational concern that the instance may go offline in the future due to the results of this litigation -- it may be a civil case right now, but if they prove the civil case, criminal charges may follow.  given the large amount of money involved, this is likely.due to the way account migration works, you can't cleanly move accounts if the original instance goes offline.in essence i am saying that if *I* had an account on mstdn.ca, *I* would probably begin thinking about moving elsewhere due to the operational risk that I may be abruptly unable to move later.beyond that, *I* do not have any information.as for the "lol" text, it is just stylistic.  i am a millenial.

       @ariadne As best I understand it, the "league" here refers not to sports, but a homeowner's group.in a complementary counter example "Association Football" does not refer to teams organized by a  homeowner's association.
