       Funny observation! Since we not live in a small town we only have 1 supermarketAnd this supermarket also has self-checkout but I have never been checked once here! In our previous city I almost got checked each time using it so it kinda defeated the purpose

       @stux since we not?  you mean now? and i have the opposite, in Leiden, i am hardly ever checked,  (because they all checking me out, know what i am saying :P, just kidding) But when i am with my grandmother in the small town she lives, in i get checked almost constantly. even if i have like only a box of monthly supplies, and a bag of knock off maltezers

       @stux now granted , i often loiter a little, especially when i am getting monthly supplies....so it might be that they camera track me doing that and then only notice i buy 2 things that they wana check me....but still

       @stux Wow! I have (luckily) never had that happen. I don't always use self checkout. At some stores they have one employee just watching 4 to 6 self checkout kiosks, mostly to help people when something goes wrong. Other places (Aldi) it's just check out and leave, with no one keeping an eye on you.
